2. Agri-Business
Farming and Agriculture are in the DNA of most African countries. Agricultural activities produce the goods, but it is the business management that keeps operations sustainable and drives growth. Agribusiness deals with the multiple aspects of getting products to market. This MBA@ABI concentration will introduce students to the fundamentals of agribusiness management principles, teaching them how to position businesses at different scales within the world’s food systems. From small family farms to big corporations, agribusiness has always been at the core of macroeconomics and trade. The Agribusiness concentration will provide students with opportunities to connect with global partners in this industry.
3. Financial Management
Financial management goes beyond the skills to excel in the market, or in the management of an organization’s financial resources. Understanding financial goals, reading financial reports, making financial decisions, managing risk, developing systems for checks and balances, all of these are skills that the financial professional need to have, but they have to be anchored in ethical principles and in a commitment to principled stewardship. In this concentration, students will become the professionals that are in such high demand in the African labor market, from the private sector to development agencies and government offices. ABI has a strong network of academics in the finance and accounting field that will prepare you for the challenges of the profession.
